Capitain Petzel, Karl-Marx-Allee 45, 10178, Berlin
25. Juni 2026 – 1. August 2026
Capitain Petzel presents Mikołaj Sobczak’s second solo exhibition at the gallery, featuring three large-format paintings first shown in 2025 at the Salzburger Kunstverein. In **Ancora** (“again” or “still”), Sobczak connects historical events with the present, exploring how political and cultural narratives repeat and transform over time. His paintings combine historical allegory, queer identities, and social critique, bringing together queer activists, revolutionaries, writers, artists, and scholars alongside figures symbolizing capitalism, fascism, and technological power. Using the scale of history painting, Sobczak highlights stories of resistance, survival, and oppression across different eras.
