Alan Charlton: Circle Paintings

Konrad Fischer Galerie, Neue Grünstraße 12, 10179, Berlin

September 10, 2026 – December 19, 2026

On the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2026, Konrad Fischer Galerie is presenting two parallel solo exhibitions by Alan Charlton and Martin Margiela as part of Gallery Night. Alan Charlton (*1948 in Sheffield, UK) emerged in the 1970s when minimal art, post-minimalism and hard-edge abstraction redefined the possibilities of painting and sculpture. His decision to work exclusively with the colour grey has shaped his artistic work for over five decades. Significant solo and group exhibitions took place at the Museum Kurhaus Kleve, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and documenta 7 in Kassel, among others. Charlton’s works are in numerous international collections, including the ARCO Foundation Collection, the Espace de l’Art Concret, FNAC + CNAP, the Hall Art Foundation, MuHKA, the Museu Berardo, the Trevi Flash Art Museum and the ZKM Karlsruhe. Alan Charlton lives and works in England.
