Our collection of ancient Egyptian art, one of the largest and finest in the United States, is renowned throughout the world. The Brooklyn Museum's Egyptian holdings span millennia, encompassing masterworks in sculpture, relief, painting, and decorative arts. The collection includes painted wooden busts with gilded crowns, limestone reliefs depicting royalty and daily life, alabaster statuary, sarcophagi with hieroglyphic inscriptions, and intricate carved objects.
