Andreas Eriksson: Horizontal Fold

Barbara Wien presents ›Horizontal Fold‹, the gallery's first exhibition with Andreas Eriksson, realized in collaboration with neugerriemschneider. Andreas Eriksson, born in 1975 in Björsäter, Sweden, works primarily with painting, which he expands through photography, film, screen printing, weaving and sculpture. In his artistic practice, painting acts both as a theme and as a method; Numerous works examine their conditions, history and possibilities. The landscape around his home and studio in Medelplana on the shores of Lake Vänern forms a continuous starting point, which is processed in various media and groups of works. The exhibition includes the frieze ›Frieze‹ (2026) from paintings and photographs as well as an architectural installation derived from the veranda of the Künstlerhaus in Medelplana. The show is complemented by screen prints and textiles, which are modelled on the windows of the studio. In addition, bronze cast birds from the series ›Content is a Glimpse‹ can be seen.
