GRIMM London, Duke Street St James's 43a, SW1Y 6DD, London
November 26, 2026 – January 9, 2027
GRIMM presents a solo exhibition of new paintings by Angela Heisch, marking her fourth show with the gallery and her debut in London. The exhibition features Heisch’s vibrant color fields that exhibit an organic, kinetic intricacy. Her canvases are filled with unruly clusters of curved and delicate forms that collide and merge, creating a dynamic interplay of energy and stillness. The compositions are rich with repeated motifs, gestural lines, and unfolding shapes, all constructed through meticulously layered oil paint. Each piece conveys a desirous emotional quality, echoing the patterns of the natural world. Heisch’s work is defined by a fluid movement balanced by contrasting elements such as light and dark, hard and soft, and surface and depth. By exploring themes of fullness and density, her tangible forms invite viewers to engage with the evolving currents of abstraction, where meanings and interpretations are perpetually in flux.
