Berlin, the Bitch and the Witch

The exhibition "Berlin, the Bitch and the Witch" gathers under the bridge a conclave of bitches and witches who erect a barricade and enchant the messages of the street. Inspired by Silvia Federici's book "Caliban and the Witch", the history of witch hunts between the 15th and 17th centuries is considered an instrument of control and discipline in the context of capitalism. Healers and women who contradicted social norms were particularly affected. The exhibition addresses the need to confront current capitalist structures and conjures up a collective magic. Twelve artist-magicians present works that use contemporary magical practices to reflect on capitalism and its impact on urban life. The works invite reflection on protection, fear and healing and create a space in which knowledge is reclaimed and new forms of survival are designed. The exhibition sparks contradiction and imagination.
