The Jane Hartsook Gallery presents work by three 2025 artists in residence: Lizzy Chemel, Amir Hariri, and Melissa Joseph. Greenwich House Pottery's Artist Residency Program fosters artistic growth by providing makers time, space, materials, and creative community to explore ceramics in New York City. Chemel creates sculptures combining ceramic, wax, metal, and cement using molds and slip-casting, drawing from her Chinese heritage and American upbringing. Hariri, an artist-engineer, uses ceramic, wood, and cement to create abstract multimedia sculptures responding to contemporary challenges like climate change. Joseph works in ceramics and textiles, addressing diaspora and family history through ceramic inlay paintings and felt-ceramic hybrid works.
