‘TellStoff’ extends the concept of literature beyond the printed book and presents six selected exhibits, including Chinese oracle bones, Japanese parachutes and a Syrian graphic novel. The exhibition addresses literature as a lived practice and aesthetic experience by showing how objects can tell or inspire stories. She examines the changes in narrative material over time and the material and oral practice of literature. Various scientific, curatorial and restoration approaches open up new perspectives on the objects and their cultural contexts. ‘TellerStoff’ illustrates the diversity, materiality and cultural anchoring of literature and makes it sensually tangible. An accompanying programme of events with discussion rounds, workshops and artistic interventions promotes dialogue between objects, research and the public, whereby literature is experienced, questioned and re-understood together.
