n.b.k. - Neuer Berliner Kunstverein (NBK), Chausseestraße 128-129, 10115, Berlin
September 10, 2026 – August 29, 2027
From September 2026, the Neue Berliner Kunstverein (n.b.k.) will be showing a new, specially produced work by the Guerrilla Girls on its facade. For more than 40 years, the renowned artists' collective has been operating both within and outside institutional contexts, exposing inequalities in terms of gender and race in the international art world and beyond. The use of provocative slogans and visually striking poster campaigns have become trademarks of the Guerrilla Girls. Their anonymous presence — the members of the collective are always dressed in gorilla masks — is a radical act in an art world driven by ego and fame. Against the background of current questions about the tension between art and activism, a renewed look at the pioneering practice of the guerrilla girls is worthwhile.
