Museum für Fotografie, Jebensstraße 2, 10623, Berlin
June 5, 2026 – November 15, 2026
The third part of the summer exhibition is dedicated to an album by Helmut Newton, which the photographer put together for collector Gert Elfering in 1999 and has since entered the Nicola Erni Collection. The collector is now showing the unique piece outside of her Swiss exhibition spaces for the first time in Berlin. These are 112 small-format original prints in black and white and colour as well as various image formats, which were selected by Newton and Elfering, glued to a carrier box and handwritten with a title or a supplementary story to the respective image motif. The mounted photographs were not bound at that time, are now individually framed and can now be viewed side by side. These are iconic fashion photographs, as well as never-before-seen work photos taken on the fringes of his fashion shoots, Polaroids and advertising shots.
