**Artist Talk:** July 4, 2 pm **Summer break:** July 29 – August 8, 2026 Geerten Verheus presents **INVERTIGO**, his second solo exhibition at Galerie Nothelfer, featuring new sculptures and collages alongside older and rarely shown works. The title suggests an “inversion of vertigo” and refers both to a shift in balance and to the inverted roller coaster. Inversion runs through Verheus’s work as a destabilizing yet seductive principle. Through the interplay of material and form, seemingly recognizable objects create a physical experience of multiple perspectives at once. His works often function like visual reversals, shifting between brittle and smooth, lush and folded, familiar and strange. The sculpture **DREIKREUZE** (2026), made by hand from walnut wood, almost blocks the exhibition space. Resembling three interlocked cheval de frise barriers, its pointed forms invite close viewing and reveal themselves as fragments of the human body. A new series of delicate collages, titled **KEPCHUTE** (2026), appears like dream images just before waking, leading the viewer’s gaze across the surface like a wild roller-coaster ride. Three rubber floor sculptures provide a muted underlying tone, while older works such as **TOPSY TURVY** (2013), inverted canvas forms, and the kinetic sculpture **LENGTHS** (2006) deepen the exhibition’s central play with reversal, instability, and transformation.
