KÖNIG GALERIE presents Jeppe Hein's exhibition YOU ARE NEVER REALLY ALLONE in the Nave of St. Agnes, featuring his reimagined mirror balloon sculptures as penguins. These highly polished figures, suspended from the ceiling to the ground, reflect and distort the surrounding architecture and viewers, embodying a balance between weight and lightness. Each sculpture is named after regions linked to penguin habitats, with names derived from Indigenous languages that evoke themes of care, guidance, nature, and presence. Positioned on pale stones collected by Hein along the Danish coast, the sculptures create a moment of pause, inviting viewers to observe their surroundings. The title's spelling, ALLONE, merges "all" and "one," highlighting the coexistence of individuality and collectivity. The mirror surfaces ensure that perception is dynamic, with the viewer's movement continuously altering the relationship between themselves, the sculptures, and the environment, fostering a deeper connection to the natural world.
