Katharina Sieverding: Life—Death

For Berlin Art Week 2026, Galerie Thomas Schulte presents the exhibition ›Life—Death‹ by Katharina Sieverding. The focus is on the 1969 film of the same name, supplemented by large-format film stills and previously unreleased Polaroids. Created in what was then West Berlin, the work refers to an early creative phase of the artist and to a historical moment in which political, social and aesthetic upheavals condensed. Last but not least, ›Life—Death‹ was shown at documenta 5 in Kassel in 1972 and thus manifests the early art-historical relevance of the work.
