September 10, 2026 – December 19, 2026
On the occasion of Berlin Art Week 2026, Konrad Fischer Galerie is presenting two parallel solo exhibitions by Alan Charlton and Martin Margiela as part of Gallery Night. Martin Margiela, born in Leuven in 1957, is internationally known as the founder of the fashion house of the same name and has devoted himself exclusively to his artistic practice since 2009. His work encompasses a wide range of different media and is based on a keen sense of materials as well as his particular interest in everyday objects and their ongoing transformation. His first institutional solo exhibition took place in 2021 at the Lafayette Anticipations Fondation in Paris, followed by his work in Beijing and Seoul. Margiela's work has also been shown in group exhibitions in Bielefeld and Berlin. In 2024, his sculpture Blinds was permanently installed in the centre of Antwerp. His most recent solo exhibitions include presentations in Tokyo, Brussels and Athens. Martin Margiela works in Belgium and lives between Belgium and France.
