There are forms of perception that only come to light when the world becomes silent and familiar coordinates disappear. For seven days and seven nights, Mathias Gramoso stays in a spherical chamber – without light, horizon or connection to the outside world. In this seamless architecture, attention shifts from the outside world to the subtle movements of thought, breath, memory, and imagination. The exhibition shows the exuvies of this experience: Oral reflections, acoustic and visual recordings, gestural drawings, handwritten notes, and the sphere itself. Like the stripped skin of a snake, these traces testify to an inner transition that can never be completely reconstructed. »Rhetorical Silence« is an open exploration of the possibilities of the mind and a search for altered states of consciousness through silence, darkness and sustained attention, in which the imagination of time and freedom
