The multimedia permanent exhibition takes you through the different epochs of Lindenstraße: 1933-1945 (National Socialism), 1945-1952 (Soviet Occupation Zone), 1952-1989 (GDR/Stasi), 1989-1990 (Peaceful Revolution). It deals with the history of political persecution and violence in the various dictatorships of the 20th century in Germany. The exhibition is an open learning place of history and invites you to visit. It also offers guided tours and interviews with contemporary witnesses. The memorial stands for the victory of democracy in the Peaceful Revolution of 1989/90.
