New Work: Making East London

New Work is a creative commissions programme where artists create work in response to a theme, exploring how art and design intersect with daily life. The first theme, Making East London, reflects on the area's past and possible futures. The season features six commissioned artists: Shahed Saleem (I Was Born Here), Es Devlin (The Everythingists), Tania Bruguera (Towards A Civic Museum), Laura Wilson (Heads! Look To The Workers), Lawrence Lek (Guanyin II: The Caretaker), and Rene Matić (HEARD), alongside film screenings by Justinien Tribillon and Carrie Mae Weems.
