The exhibition »Not All Travellers Follow Pathways—Humanity as Practice« brings the 36th edition to the exhibition. Bienal de São Paulo for the first time to Germany in the House of World Cultures. The edition, specially designed for Berlin, presents an independent constellation of artistic positions with newly developed, adapted and site-specific works. Humanity is understood as a verb and living practice that enables renegotiation and the removal of prevailing asymmetries. In installations, performances, sound works, narratives and spatial interventions, the artists critically examine political and colonial legacies inscribed in modernity. Her works articulate resistance to dehumanization, the exploitation of nature and monocultural thinking, while at the same time cultivating gestures of care, care and mutual commitment. Among others, María Magdalena Campos-Pons, Forensic Architecture, Emeka Ogboh, Wolfgang Tillmans and Chaïbia Talal are involved.
