Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Kottbusser Straße 10/d, 10999, Berlin

September 11, 2026 – September 11, 2026

The Künstlerhaus Bethanien opens its doors on the occasion of the Featured Night and allows visitors to explore the artists' studios and experience two specially developed performances. Rachel Monosov's performance is based on sculptural works by Edgar Ende and is performed as a flag bearer by Rachell Bo Clark, Cami Brogaard and Victor Dumont. Choreographic processes between movement, repetition and spatial negotiation stage the flag as a symbol of collective ideals, physical burden and contested territory. The performance combines surrealistic imagery with questions of war, belonging and vulnerability. Iden Sungyoung Kim's cocktail lecture performance traces the historical continuity of nuclear power politics from the Manhattan Project and the atomic bombings of Hiroshima to current geopolitical clashes. The narrative of conflict, risk, imperial power demonstrations and blind faith in scientific promises is accompanied by the consumption of cocktails, which gradually leads to collective oblivion.
