Paweł Książek: Rhizome

Persons Projects, Lindenstraße 35, 10969, Berlin

September 10, 2026 – October 31, 2026

Persons Projects presents ‘Rhizome’, a solo exhibition by Paweł Książek that unfolds as an open web of ideas, images and associations. The exhibition combines black and white drawings from the ‘Narration’ series with new paintings. Image and text enter into a multi-layered dialogue without one clearly explaining the other. The title refers to the philosophical concept of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari: Like a rhizome, the works develop in many directions, whereby each work remains independent and at the same time becomes part of a larger network of thoughts, memories and references. The drawings move between figuration and abstraction with body fragments, faces, mechanical forms, textures and undefined landscapes. The paintings work with translucent layers of colour, blurring contours and subtle changes in light. Flames, faces and everyday objects emerge from dark, atmospheric surfaces and dissolve again in color. With regard to conceptual and post-war art, Książek examines the relationship between image, language and thought. The exhibition remains consciously open and invites you to move freely between images, words and their associations.
