Photobooks USA 2000–25 examines the photobook's evolution as a significant medium for artists addressing contemporary American life over the past 25 years. The exhibition showcases over 50 photobooks, ranging from out-of-print to recent influential works, highlighting a diverse array of creators, themes, and formats. It emphasizes the photobook's role in presenting and disseminating artistic narratives without adhering to a traditional canon or focusing solely on popular or award-winning titles. Instead, the selected works delve into various facets of the United States, reflecting the artistic, social, cultural, political, environmental, and economic dialogues of the twenty-first century. The exhibition is curated by David Campany, Sara Ickow, and malaika newsome, offering a comprehensive view of how photobooks have become a vital tool for artistic expression and engagement.
