Galerie KUNST-KONTOR, Bertiniweg 1 A, 14469, Potsdam
June 27, 2026 – September 5, 2026
For years, Galerie KUNSTKONTOR has been devoting itself to the topic of artist couples, as they make the tension between personal connection and artistic independence visible. In this context, the painter Gabriela Francik (born 1964) and the painter Axel Krause (born 1958), who have been a couple since 2010, exhibit together in the gallery for the first time. Their joint project deals with the idea that togetherness does not necessarily lead to conflict. They describe the world as marked by opposites, such as man and woman, day and night, light and shadow, or analytical and synthetic. These apparent opposites are not only in contrast, but complement each other to form a harmonious whole. The color circle serves as a symbol for them, in which opposite colors at the same time form the strongest contrast and the greatest harmony. Thus, the contrast becomes the indispensable complement.
