Roger Eberhard’s new photographic series ‘Meanwhile’ explores the notion that history consists of a multitude of simultaneous events rather than a chronological sequence. Eberhard asked 20 friends and colleagues from 20 different countries about the 12 most important historical events of the last 300 years. The most frequently mentioned events, such as the French Revolution on 14 July 1789 and 11 September 2001, served as a starting point. For each of these data, he researched lesser-known stories that took place on the same day, with the stories selected varying in meaning. Eberhard (*1984, CH) has exhibited internationally and his works are represented in important collections. His publications include Human Territoriality and Escapism. The book on the ‘Meanwhile’ series is published by Morel Books, London. Eberhard lives and works in Stallikon, Switzerland.
