The exhibition "Animal Good!" at the Museum of Asian Art presents a selection of artworks that address animals and birds in Japan. Mice and rats are valued for their intelligence and are associated with prosperity, as rice served as a means of payment until the 19th century. Horses that represent the sign of the year 2026 in the East Asian zodiac are both farm animals and symbols of freedom and energy.
