With Trace Metals, galerie burster presents an international group exhibition for Berlin Art Week 2026, curated by Bram Braam and Stephen Burke. The exhibition brings together positions that address urban surfaces, traces of public spaces, materiality, abstraction and the social meanings of the city. The starting point is the term Post-Vandalism, developed by Stephen Burke. Since 2019, the eponymous Instagram account has grown into an international network of artists, writers and curators engaging with graffiti, architecture, activism, counterculture, public space and their translation into contemporary art. Trace Metals transfers this digitally developed discourse into the physical space of the gallery and places it in relation to Berlin as a city of visible fractures, overlays and negotiations.
