Willkommen in Kreuzberg

On the 12th SEP, the Gropius Bau becomes a meeting place for the people, stories and cultural practices of Kreuzberg. Developed together with cultural actors, initiatives and musicians from the neighbourhood, the programme combines the historical perspectives of the exhibition with today's forms of cultural self-empowerment in dance, theatre and music. In addition to discussions about migrant-feminist self-organization and growing up in Kreuzberg, author Zehra Sönmez reads from her play ›16GB: Table tennis table policy. In the atrium, the Naunynritze Youth Centre hosts its table tennis tournament "Kreuzberg United". The choreographer Kadir ›Amigo‹ Memiş curates a dance battle and builds on the hip-hop and dance cultures of the district – as an expression of resistance, self-determination and community.
