Yves Saint Laurent and Photography examines the intricate relationship between fashion and photography as shaped by Yves Saint Laurent over four decades. The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris and the Fondation Pierre Bergé–Yves Saint Laurent, features nearly 300 iconic photographs and archival objects. It showcases works by renowned photographers including Richard Avedon, Cecil Beaton, Guy Bourdin, Robert Doisneau, Horst P. Horst, William Klein, Annie Leibovitz, Steven Meisel, Duane Michals, Helmut Newton, Irving Penn, David Seidner, and Andy Warhol. The exhibition pairs these images with contact sheets, campaign materials, magazines, and personal photographs, illustrating how Saint Laurent created a framework for the visual representation of fashion that continues to influence the industry today. Curated by Simon Baker, Nastasia Alberti, and Clémentine Cuinet, the exhibition highlights the dual role of photography as both a promotional tool and a creative force in defining Saint Laurent's legacy.
