The exhibition Zum Paradies is dedicated to one of the most powerful ideas in cultural history and asks where the idea of paradise has led us over the centuries. At Villa Schöningen, it unfolds as an exhibition through interiors and gardens, in which historical pictorial traditions meet contemporary artistic positions. Paradise does not appear as a lost place, but as a projection – marked by longings, ideals and forms of control. Between the image of nature, body design and social order, it becomes visible how this idea shapes our present to this day.
