*Folded Memories* is Estefania Ajcip’s first exhibition with Charlie James Gallery, presenting new wall-based, sculptural works that explore memory, family, and immigrant experience. Drawing on childhood in Guatemala and Los Angeles, often through family photographs, Ajcip builds half-remembered, half-imagined scenes that unfold into gallery space. Works like *Back to One* and *Telephone Game* center on her father’s absence and eventual return, while *Four paths/Two paths?* uses an out-of-frame city bus and a quetzal to symbolize migration, longing, and familial unity. Built from cardboard models, foam, birch plywood, papier-mache, and LED lights, the works blur painting and sculpture, turning personal history into dreamlike, emotionally charged compositions.
