*Wo ich wohne* takes the 1922 villa built for Jewish textile manufacturer Hermann Knobloch—later the site where Haus am Waldsee began shortly after the end of World War II—as a point of departure to examine the institution’s history. The building, once inhabited by both victims and perpetrators of National Socialism, is treated not merely as a setting but as a material and historical witness. Working with, against, and through the architecture, the exhibition explores tensions between the private and the political. The conflicts, violence, and social struggles of the past century continue to resonate within the building, its grounds, and its changing uses. Together, the works reflect on ideals of bourgeois stability and separation, revealing how notions of normality can persist even as the world outside is profoundly unsettled. The international group exhibition unfolds around a large-scale installation by Richard Venlet and brings together historical and contemporary works by Nigin Beck, Rhea Dillon, Robert Haas, Hannah Höch, Alexandre Khondji, Atiéna R. Kilfa, Henry Koerner, Yoora Park, Patrick Jolley & Reynold Reynolds, Oskar Schlemmer, Renée Sintenis, Ian Waelder, and Frau von Zinowiew.
