HAUSER & WIRTH, 22nd Street, 542 W 22nd St, 10011, New York City

10 de setembro de 2026 – 24 de outubro de 2026

This September, Hauser & Wirth New York presents its first exhibition with Lee Bul, one of the most influential artists of her generation. 'The Anatomy of Every Setting Sun,' organized by guest curator Dr. Jiyoon Lee, brings together major new sculptures with recent bodies of work, extending Lee's decades-long examination of humanity's drive to transcend nature through technology and systems of control. The works reveal tensions between utopian aspiration and inevitable collapse, exposing entangled relationships between technology, history and nature. Known for a pioneering interdisciplinary approach spanning sculpture, installation, performance, and painting, Lee Bul first gained international recognition in the 1990s for provocative art interrogating utopian ideals, technological transformation, and human fragility. Her practice has expanded to encompass large-scale immersive installations utilizing mirrored surfaces, organic-mechanical hybrids, and architectural structures. Deeply influenced by philosophy and experimental architecture, her oeuvre examines intersections of technology, history, and speculative futures.
