Between Bridges, Adalbertstraße 43, 10179, Berlin
September 10, 2026 – October 25, 2026
In her cinematic and photographic works, Rachel Seidu deals with queer identities in Nigeria and the manifold forms of intimacy. It combines conceptual and documentary approaches and creates poetic, at the same time politically charged images in which community, vulnerability and resilience are the focus. Her work is intended as a contribution to a visual archive of queer existence in Nigeria and addresses structural exclusion and social violence, for example through conversion therapies or the role of religious institutions in maintaining intolerance. Based on personal stories, Seidu reflects on questions of belonging, self-determination and the freedom to lead an autonomous life. The exhibition at Between Bridges presents her work for the first time in a comprehensive solo exhibition in Germany. Seidu (*1997 in Lagos) lives and works in Lagos; His work has been shown internationally.
