Howard Greenberg Gallery, founded in 1981, is a major photography gallery known for building a large, evolving collection that spans Pictorialism, Modernism, contemporary photography, and commercial images for fashion, advertising, and industry. Its roster includes many of the medium’s most important photographers, from Eugène Atget and Henri Cartier-Bresson to Gordon Parks, Edward Weston, and Vivian Maier. The gallery also represents significant estates and archives, including Berenice Abbott, Arnold Newman, and Ray K. Metzker. Founded by photographer and curator Howard Greenberg, it helped establish the market for fine art photography and was an early champion of photojournalism and street photography.
